Weaving may or may not come to you easily, but it is a challenge that puts you in a wonderful connection with others and tests your ability to be patient with your own fingers!! Anaheke, Paula and Mandy showed us the way patiently and gave us lots of support. Some of us knew a lot about weaving, and some of us, like myself, were trying for the first time. My background in crochery and knitting wasn’t much help – my fingers really didn’t want to learn totally new movements and techniques. But with patience and lots of good conversation and good will, I slowly learned the new rhythms and concepts and was able to leave at the end of the day feeling pretty darned pleased with myself, and with a new basket.
